Research and education
At the campus in Piteå you will find educations in music, dance, media and experience production. The educations are placed under the same roof and offer a wide range of possibilities, projects and abilities for students to work together. The Masters Programme in Music Performance 
The Masters programme in Music Performance at the School of Music, Piteå, comprises two years of full-time study (120 ECTS credits). Admission requirements include the degree of Bachelor of Music (minimum 180 ECTS credits), or equivalent
academic and/or artistic qualifications. Majors are offered in conducting, composition, organ, and other instruments.
Conducting major
With conducting as your major, you will work regularly with professional vocal and instrumental ensembles.

Composition
With composition as your major, you will participate in several different projects together with professional ensembles, soloists, choirs, and orchestras, in order to develop your artistic personality as a composer.

Organ major
With organ as your major, you will work with a broad repertoire, but you will also be given the opportunity to specialize in a specific repertoire area. In addition to regular teaching at the School of Music, the curriculum includes a number of weeklong special courses each academic year. Some of these courses will take place outside Piteå, in Sweden or abroad, enabling students to study and practice at organs of special interest.

Instrument major
In the instrument major, you will be given many opportunities to develop your artistic personality as an instrument player or singer, including working in projects together with professional ensembles, as well as participating in master classes with musicians of international renown.

Media education
Communication and experience! Who does not want to work with such things? Is it possible for these fundamental phenomena to become obsolete? Doubtful. How much fun do you have? Come and see, or read more about the courses. At the department of Music and Media you will have access to a totally unique environment 24-hours a day. It bustles with activity both inside and outside of the courses. Here we try to make sure that you develop your ability, along with others, by producing, consuming, analyzing and reflecting around communication and experience. We believe that it is important to have both breadth and depth in a
world that is rapidly evolving. We therefore believe that you have great potential to evolve in for instance radio, tv, newspapers, recording technology, musical events and web-design. We do our utmost to work both artistically and scientifically, as we see this as a strength of our education and a competitive advantage to you. We concentrate mostly on digital media and will offer you solid basic knowledge.
